On giving thanks – 11.7
On November 7, 2011, I am thankful for these gals:
These five women compose my Capstone team for the year-long culminating project for my MPH at UNC. We’re working together on a reproductive health and advocacy project for Latino youth in North Carolina with the Raleigh-based NGO El Pueblo, Inc. This photo was taken at the Youth Links reproductive health conference this past weekend. We had way too much fun teaching kids about reproductive anatomy, and realized you still giggle about some of that stuff in your late 20’s.
When you spend approximately 20 hours in a week together (on a Capstone project that, as advertised, is supposed to take 6 weekly hours of your time), you would think that would be just about enough bonding time. Nope…item #1 on our meeting agenda this week? Scheduling some non-work related social time. We’re known as the loud group that laughs way too much for 8am at the public market where we hold our weekly meetings. I think people hate us.
But thats okay. We love each other.
And for that I’m pretty darn thankful.
